Sometimes memorabilia can go a bit weird… Take the ‘Sleep’ single for instance – nice slipcase, funny video and then the weirdest item of the collection for sure! Comedian Peter Kay’s head…yes you heard me! Somehow through the paths of time the clay figurine from the ‘Sleep’ video make its way into the collection. Now this item is probably the ugliest thing I have ever seen and lives perpetually like Dracula in darkness for fear of scaring anyone, I really wish maybe they had squashed it after they were done, might have been kinder (picture is at the bottom of this post as I couldn’t bring myself to actually afford it a post of its own even if it is an icon of the Red Book era!)
Anyway back to the nice slipcase. Created as per the previous 2 singles to house all 3 versions of the song available on 9th January 2006, the ‘Sleep’ slipcase came with an unusual coloured glossy cover which echoed spotlights at a gig.
